Description
Teodoro Melendez and Family share their Peruvian heritage with this awe-inspiring quartz and sterling silver beaded pendant necklace. Teodoro likes to say, '...that each of my designs represents a lifetime of dedication to the promotion of pre-Hispanic art for the newer generations to appreciate.' Round sterling silver beads make up most of the necklace which is accented with pretty quartz beads. The accessory's focal points are two beads and a pendant made of sterling silver with oxidized and gleaming finishes. The Andean artisans craft the former to resemble the human heads found among the ruins of pre-Columbian civilizations. The latter is bird-shaped; birds were of central importance to the Incas, a fact attested to by the shape of Machu Picchu which, when viewed from above, looks like a condor. The necklace closes with a hook clasp.
