Take Pictures in the Old City

Anton Papo draws inspiration from his time spent photographing Java. He especially admires the old buildings left by Dutch colonists. 'Through my painting,' he says, 'I have a way to 'preserve' these scenes of visitors admiring these old relics from before Indonesia was even born.' Papo paints this composition with a modern aesthetic, portraying himself with a camera in hand, admiring the buildings of the 'old city.'
