The Carrier of Time

A man carries a hieroglyph on his back as he pauses to rest with his heavy load. He is known as Mam, or the 'carrier of time.' According to Maya legend, his role is to carry the weight of a full year upon his back, represented by the Haab glyph that he bears. Angel Ortiz works in Mexico's legendary sterling silver, mined in Taxco, to craft this original necklace. The pendant is worn on a long cord of black rubber.
