Description
Ila Suleyman designs a necklace that dazzles with African elegance. He names his creation Taowre, which in the Mamprusi language means 'forward movement.' The Ghanaian artisan crafts the beaded necklace by hand with sese wood beads as well as fresh green beads and discs of recycled plastic origin.
From northern Ghana, the Mamprusi people are predominantly rice and cattle farmers who use cow hide and bones to create various items including jewelry and accessories.
