Green Ancestral Treasure

For the indigenous people in pre-Hispanic times, jade, known as ya'ax chich, represented life, fertility, and power. Guatemalan artisan Zandra Lorena Sajbin works with this ancestral stone, which showcases natural hues of green. She hand-carves the pendant of this necklace to feature a ring with faceted edges that gleam in the light. This necklace circles the wearer with an adjustable strand of black cotton cord.
