Raised by a silversmith, Balinese artisan Giri Tasmana says he likes to use themes in his designs. 'They tend to depict the floral and animal motifs that I love and want to preserve.' For the design of these handmade stud earrings he chooses a beautiful butterfly and gives its wings a pattern accented with swirling openwork. Crafted from sterling silver, each of the post earrings has a shiny polished surface enhanced with oxidation that brings out the butterfly's features.
