Description
Rita Addo Zakour celebrates Shango with the staff-like design of this admirable sculpture. As the Yoruba god of storm and drumming, Shango is a benevolent deity who bangs on drums as well as play dance rhythms on his storm clouds. The sese wood sculpture is carved by hand featuring two expressive faces looking in opposite directions. Painted by hand, the sculpture is finished with white clay for an aged appearance.
